Currently co-managing Peak Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm founded in 2014. I joined Peak to back remarkable entrepreneurs in early-stage Utah tech and to continue my career as a entrepreneur in creating something memorable. Now backing fellow founders and striving to match the level of support given me through years.
In 2006, co-founded Zinch.com, a venture-backed online portal connecting students globally with opportunities in higher education. Later led Zinch’s growth into China, launching Zinch.cn, one of the first foreign online brands to reach scale in China. Zinch was acquired by Chegg Inc in 2011 and I led Chegg’s international efforts through initial public offering in 2013 (CHGG, NYSE).
Drawn to tight-knit teams navigating the chaos that exists in new ventures. As a student-athlete: contributed as a walk-on guard on the 1998 WAC conference champion basketball team at the University of Utah while maintaining a perfect GPA and self-funding my education. As an student-entrepreneur: launched and successfully ran, alongside talented co-founders, my first two startups while completing an undergraduate degree at BYU. As an expat-entrepreneur: assembled and led a team in Beijing, China through acquisition and IPO amid 2 international moves that the craziness that comes with raising 4 kids!
