Simon Yoo is the Founder and Managing Partner of Green Visor Capital, an early stage venture capital firm focused exclusively on financial technology companies, launched in late 2013 in partnership with Joe Saunders, the former CEO and Chairman of Visa Inc. Simon has over 20 years of financial services experience as an adviser, investor and operator.

Prior to founding Green Visor Capital, Simon was the CFO of Kabbage Inc., a late stage financial technology company. Before joining Kabbage, Simon was Managing Director and Co-Head of Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited’s Financial Institutions Group in Hong Kong. During Simon’s 15-year tenure in investment banking in Citi, he advised numerous financial institutions, government entities, sovereign wealth funds and private equity firms on a range of strategic activities, including equity offerings, restructurings, leveraged finance transactions and M&A.

Simon began his investment banking career in Citigroup’s New York offices in 1998, then called Salomon Smith Barney, and during his tenure he was given increasingly senior management positions within the firm’s Tokyo and Hong Kong operations. Simon was also named the sole recipient of the “Promising Young Banker of the Year Award in Japan” (i.e., the best banker under the age of 40 years) from The Asian Banker magazine, March 2008.

Simon began his career in financial services as an Associate at Mellon Bank in New York.

A native of Ohio, Simon received his B.A. in Economics and English at Kenyon College in 1991, where he was a member of the Board of Trustees (2007 - 2013) and created a scholarship fund for First-Generation Americans. He is currently a member of the Board of the Kenyon Review literary journal. He received his M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in 1998. He is also an accomplished jazz / rock drummer and amateur golfer.
