Taizo Son is a Japanese serial entrepreneur and investor. In 2013 he founded Mistletoe, a hub for startups and the overall entrepreneurial ecosystem. It specifically provides learning opportunities for entrepreneurs, facilitates startup communities, invests in and supports startup companies and venture capitals.
Taizo has also started the MOVIDA Startup Studio to create innovative startup companies with their respective founders. In addition, he serves on the board of ETIC, an institute which provides young people with opportunities to develop their capabilities as social entrepreneurs.
Taizo is the youngest brother of SoftBank magnate Masayoshi Son. He is Chairman of online gaming company GungHo, which he founded in 2002. Its flagship gaming app Puzzle & Dragons is currently the world's top-grossing application for iOS and Android. The company’s market value in 2013 was $10.4 billion. Prior to GungHo, he helped launch Yahoo Japan in 1996 as the content development leader.
Taizo received his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Tokyo.
