- Tim Jackson is a General Partner at Lean Investments, LLC. He founded QXL.com in September 1997 and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer until May 1999. After raising $15 million in venture capital and growing the business to $12 million in annualized sales in 20 months, Tim Jackson was recruited as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer in May 1999 to head QXL.com's executive staff. Prior to QXL.com, he worked on the staff of the Independent newspaper and The Economist magazine where his responsibilities included working as Business Correspondent, Technology Editor, Editorial Writer, and Correspondent and Bureau Chief in Tokyo and Brussels. Tim Jackson also served as a Managing Director at The Carlyle Group. From 1986 to 1990, he worked as a Journalist specializing in business and technology for The Economist, where he served as the magazine's Tokyo and East Asia correspondent. From 1990 to 1994, Tim Jackson worked at The Independent, where he opened its Tokyo bureau and then became Bureau Chief of its European office. He has written a weekly column about web business strategies in the Financial Times newspaper since 1995. Tim Jackson now writes a weekly column for the Financial Times on computer business, telecom, and the Internet. He is also author of 'Inside Intel', published in 1997. Tim Jackson received an M.A. (Hons) from Oxford University.
