Early on, Tony realized the importance of empowering people to have a voice. Growing up in Seattle, he was confirmed as one of the youngest board members on the King County Children & Family Commission at the age of 16. In that role, Tony advocated for services such as homeless shelters for runaway teens. Tony graduated with a B.A from Grinnell College.

After being awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, Tony researched "The Economic and Social Implications of Fashion in Vietnam."​ Before returning to the U.S., Tony was the original Product Manager on the launch team of Levi's in Vietnam, where he was responsible for buying merchandise and creating marketing programs.

At the beginning of 2006, after working at Buzz Marketing Group as Director of Lifestyles, Tony was recruited to Max Levchin's Slide where he led online/product marketing, community advocacy and user-driven initiatives (i.e. music) for Slide. During ~4 years at Slide, later acquired by Google, he successfully scaled the distribution strategy (e.g. creating a new community site that went from zero to 1MM+ users in < 1 year).

Following Slide, Tony was Vice President of Marketing at Life360, whose mobile app grew from 50,000 to 15 million users during his tenure. After that, he joined Anki where he built and executed a digital strategy for engaging customers from pre-launch through product purchase. Tony next led marketing at Coin, a best selling smart payment consumer electronics product, whose payment platform was acquired by Fitbit. Today, Tony is happy to be the VP of Marketing at GearLaunch while still advising select startups.

Tony has been quoted in media such as Bloomberg, CNN.com and USA Today. He has also spoken as an expert at conferences including Mobile World Congress, SxSW, MobileX & Marketing 2.0.
