Vispi has 9 years of Venture Capital experience with Sierra Ventures in Silicon Valley and in India. He has been responsible for Software investments in the US and for driving the Firm’s cross-border investments in India across sectors.
Notable investments Vispi has been involved with include: MakeMyTrip.com (Nasdaq. MMYT) and CarWale (acquired by Axel Springer) in India; and Greenplum (Acquired by EMC), Approva (acquired by Infor), Revionics and Parature in the US. Vispi was also responsible for Sierra’s investment in Seedfund, the most successful seed stage venture fund in India. Also, during his early tenure at Sierra Vispi served as Vice President of Business Development at one of the Firm’s leading portfolio companies, Sourcefire (Nasdaq: FIRE).
Prior to Sierra Ventures, Vispi’s tenure includes a broad range of operational roles in the United States and India. He was in the Corporate Development group at Network Associates (McAfee, Inc.), a $5 billion large-cap public software company where his responsibilities covered acquisitions, divestitures and strategic investments. Prior to McAfee, Vispi was in product management at myCIO.com, a company that pioneered the delivery of desktop software online through the Internet. myCIO.com was among the first software companies to deliver product in a Software as a Services (SaaS) format.
