Will Lau is founder and CEO of Bucky Box, a social enterprise with a mission to make a positive impact on our food system.
Before founding Bucky Box Will founded Snapperfish in 2001, the company behind SnapperMail, the mobile email app that dominated the Palm OS industry with its innovative finger touch interface in a world of stylus devices.
Will also co-founded Little Mobile Creations, as a partnership with Bozidar Benc. The two created Launcher X, one of the earliest of mobile app launchers and through great marketing the app became the most anticipated Palm OS software product of 2002.
During his time working within the Palm OS industry he had his hand in designing the UI behind MultiMail which was acquired by Palm in 2000. He also contracted to Quickoffice (acquired by Google in 2012) where he gained his initial experience working in technology startups.
Formally trained as a design engineer, holding a honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, Will started his career as a product designer for Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, and in particular was in a founding engineer behind the company's incredibly CPAP division, which today accounts for nearly half of the company's $0.5b in annual revenue.
