description
Artistir is a fully featured social network for musicians, fans, and other types of artists to interact, find music, sell music, or just expose your music or material. All unsigned acts. We don't want big names overshadowing the real talent.

For the Musician/Artist/Comedian/Whatever:

-Songs/audio can be streamed or offered for download for completely free
-The ONLY time you would EVER have to pay ANYTHING is if you want us to set you up an online store, allowing you to sell your music and albums, at your price, where YOU keep ALL the profit. And that cost? A whopping $20 per YEAR.
-Need a new bassist? Looking for another local band to open? Network with any of Artistir's bands through a powerful browse/search tool and become friends.
-Upload pictures and add videos. Plus, view and monitor comments posted by other musicians and fans alike.
-Buy or sell equipment and merchandise through our Marketplace
-Plus, much, MUCH more!

For the Music Lover:

-Explore local and worldwide music of all genres that have yet to be discovered.
-Listen to any of your favorite Artistir artist's songs with a click of a button.
-Check out Artistir Radio to hear all of the top requested (by you) songs.
-Many more features to follow!

People ask, "What is the difference between Artistir and sites, such as ReverbNation or PureVolume?" Well, for starters, ReverbNation promotes premium memberships and includes acts that are signed. Artistir is going to be completely free, no premium memberships, so the playing field is even. ReverbNation and PureVolume both push "premium" and "pro" memberships to be able to access all of their utilities, while Artistir will not. PureVolume does not even allow the artists to comment. Artistir will allow artists and fans alike to communicate through forums and comment sections on each artist's profile. The only fee that we would have to implement, for semantics, is a yearly $20 fee to sell through the site, although all other accounts are 100% free, even for artists just putting up there music. This allows the seller to keep all of the sale profit. We were going to do a commission based system, but that would cause delays in payment, etc.

We also recently created an online radio station. There's a player on the site. You can also have it by downloading the Winamp app and searching for the Artistir station. We will be implementing this more in the future.
